Autonomous Ground Security Robots with Real-Time Gas Detection Deployed to Safeguard the World’s Largest Single-Day Sporting Event “Asylon remains steadfast in our commitment to using robotics and advanced technology to help make the world a safer place.
The device, billed as the world’s smallest robot able to make decisions for itself, represents a major step toward a goal once rooted in science fiction.
"What makes this particularly concerning is that it's completely wormable – infected robots can automatically compromise other robots in BLE range," wrote Víctor Mayoral-Vilches, Andreas Makris, and Kevin Finisterre. "This vulnerability allows the attacker to completely take over the device."
Scientists at the University of Texas at Arlington, for example, have built a soft exoskeleton that fastens onto the arm and, in one recent study, reduced how hard participants’ biceps and triceps had to work while lifting a weight and using a power drill.
New companies are building robots in record time ... and at record cost. Massive changes have made physical AI — giving AI a body — much more affordable.
Amarah Ramirez received the prototype in late November. Students are currently fine-tuning a smaller, more efficient one for her.

Soft robot intubation device, designed specifically for non-expert users, could save lives
Maintaining an open airway is a critical priority in emergency medicine. Without the flow of oxygen, other emergency interventions can become ineffective at saving the patient's life. However, creating this airway through endotracheal intubation is a ...
The surgical robotics market is an exciting, fast-growing, multibillion-dollar sector of the medical device industry.
The Litter-Robot 4 is a reliable self-cleaning litter box with smart features. It's not ideal for every cat, but it is convenient and easy to use.
When even the most highly trained surgeons perform procedures on the retina-one of the smallest, most delicate parts of the human body-the stakes are high. Surgeons must account for patients' breathing, snoring, and eye movements, along with their own ...
To use, the operator wore a haptic glove, each finger of which connected to a motion-sensing device. The operator's hand movements were measured and sent by computer to the robotic arm, which then mimicked each of those moves. The robotic arm also measured the consistency of objects it touches. These tactile data are fed back to the operator.
