Tooth development progresses through several stages, beginning with initiation and continuing through proliferation, morphodifferentiation, apposition, and finally eruption. The initial stages are the bud, cap, and bell stages, characterized by the changing shape of the tooth germ. Following these, the apposition stage involves the deposition of enamel and dentin, and the root develops. The final stage, eruption, is when the tooth emerges into the mouth.
